U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz Endorses Doug Pike for Congress

Ardmore, PA-Today, Pike for Congress announced that U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D-PA) endorsed Doug Pike in the race for the 6th Congressional District.

"For 14 years, Doug Pike has been a practical and thoughtful advocate for change in Pennsylvania," said Rep. Schwartz. "Today, our nation faces tremendous challenges -- from getting our economy back on track to bringing affordable, quality health care to all Americans. Doug will be an outstanding Congressman for Pennsylvania's working families and our future."

"It is a special honor to have the support of Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz, who has been such a strong advocate and leader for Pennsylvania," said Doug Pike, the Democratic Candidate for U.S. House in Pennsylvania's 6th District. "When I get to Washington, I look forward to fighting alongside her to create jobs and to bring affordable, quality health care to all Americans."

Doug Pike served on the Editorial Board of The Philadelphia Inquirer for 14 years and he served as the chairman of the board at a hospital and nursing care facility for 10 years. Previously, Pike served as a Special Assistant and Speechwriter for U.S. Senator Paul Tsongas. In 1971, Pike graduated with honors from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He lives in Montgomery County.

The 6th District encompasses parts of Berks, Chester, Lehigh, and Montgomery Counties.
