Doug Pike Announces Major Berks County Democratic Endorsement

Ardmore, PA -- Today Pike for Congress is announcing a major Berks County Democratic endorsement in the race for U.S. Congress in the 6th District of Pennsylvania:

Reading Mayor Tom McMahon

"In Washington, Doug will actively support the interests of the people of Reading and other financially challenged Pennsylvania communities to retain and create family supporting jobs," said Mayor McMahon. "Doug is the right person at the right time who can help us with the change we need to get our economy moving again." Reading is the largest city in the 6th Congressional District, which includes includes all or part of 9 wards.

"I am honored to have Mayor McMahon standing with me in my campaign to represent the 6th District in Congress," said Doug Pike, the Democratic candidate for U.S. House in Pennsylvania's 6th Congressional District. "I look forward to working closely with him in the coming years."

Doug Pike served on the Editorial Board of The Philadelphia Inquirer for 14 years and he served as the chairman of the board at a hospital and nursing care facility for 10 years. Previously, Pike served as a Special Assistant and Speechwriter for U.S. Senator Paul Tsongas. In 1971, Pike graduated with honors from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He lives in Montgomery County.

The 6th District encompasses parts of Berks, Chester, Lehigh, and Montgomery Counties.
