Doug Pike Announces Growing Labor Endorsements and Support

Ardmore, PA -- Today Pike for Congress is announcing new labor endorsements and support in the race for U.S. Congress in the 6th District of Pennsylvania.

Labor Endorsements, as of Sept 10:
- Operating Engineers Local 542
- Bricklayers Local 5
- James Weyrauch, President AFGE Local 644 and Vice President of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO

Financial Supporters, as of Sept 10:
- International Brotherhood of Boilermakers
- International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
- United Food & Commercial Workers

"As a former member of two unions, I feel a personal as well as a professional honor to have the strong early support of the working families of Pennsylvania," said Doug Pike. "I will be a congressman who will fight to create jobs, pass universal health care, and make sure every child receives a quality education. The working families of Pennsylvania deserve no less."

Doug Pike served on the Editorial Board of The Philadelphia Inquirer for 14 years and he served as the chairman of the board at a hospital and nursing care facility for 10 years. Previously, Pike served as a Special Assistant and Speechwriter for U.S. Senator Paul Tsongas. In 1971, Pike graduated with honors from Princeton University. He lives in Montgomery County.

The 6th District encompasses parts of Berks, Chester, Lehigh, and Montgomery Counties.
