Doug Pike Will Report $745,681.62 Cash-on-Hand

Ardmore, PA -- In an FEC report to be filed today, Pike for Congress will report $745,681.62 cash-on-hand through the fundraising quarter ending September 30, 2009. This is more cash-on-hand than any previous Democratic candidate has had in the 6th District race at this early date.

In addition, that total includes approximately $281,149.56 raised from 716 individual donors and other sources, with $127,473.25 of that raised in the past 3 months alone. Over 80% of the campaign's 716 donors have written checks for $250 or less, demonstrating a broad and growing base of grassroots support.

Doug Pike served on the Editorial Board of The Philadelphia Inquirer for 14 years and was the President of a hospital for 10 years. Previously, Pike served as a Special Assistant and Speechwriter for U.S. Senator Paul Tsongas. In 1971, Pike graduated with honors from Princeton University.

The 6th District encompasses parts of Berks, Chester, Lehigh, and Montgomery Counties.
