Machinists Local 1776 Endorses Doug Pike
Additional Democratic Leaders Back Campaign
Ardmore, PA -- Today, Pike for Congress is announcing that Machinists Local 1776 has endorsed Doug Pike for Congress. There are now 15 unions that have endorsed and/or given financial support to Pike for Congress.
"As a former member of two unions, it is a personal and professional honor to have the backing of Pennsylvania's working families," said Doug Pike. "We've got to create jobs and we've got to fix our broken health care system. In Congress, I will stand with the hard-working families of Pennsylvania."
In addition, Pike for Congress is announcing the endorsements of Montgomery County Controller Diane Morgan, Pottstown Council Member Jody Rhoads, Phoenixville Council Member Mark Kirkner, Phoenixville Council Member Dana Dugan, South Coatesville Council Member John C. Washington III, Spring City Council Member Michael Hays, Valley Township Supervisor Yolanda Beattie, East Pikeland Board of Commissioners President Ronald M. Graham, and Chester County Young Democrats Treasurer Sean McCarson.
"It's an honor to have these Democratic leaders join our campaign to create jobs and fix our broken health care system," said Pike. "Together we will make sure families on Main Street get a fair shake when we defeat Jim Gerlach in the fall."

Doug Pike served on the Editorial Board of The Philadelphia Inquirer for 14 years, providing insight and analysis on a broad range of public policy for southeast Pennsylvania. He also served as President of a hospital for 10 years. Previously, Pike served as a Special Assistant and Speechwriter for U.S. Senator Paul Tsongas. In 1971, Pike graduated with honors from Princeton University. He resides in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County.
The 6th District encompasses parts of Berks, Chester, Lehigh, and Montgomery Counties.
